Welcome to KiliAventure. By accessing our expedition forum, creating an account, or sharing mountain insights, you agree to these terms designed to protect climbers, guides, and the mountain itself.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using KiliAventure ("the Platform"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use, our Privacy Policy, and any community guidelines posted on our forums. If you do not agree to these terms, you must discontinue use of the platform immediately.

2. Mountain Safety & Medical Disclaimer

IMPORTANT MOUNTAINEERING & HEALTH NOTICE:

Mount Kilimanjaro reaches an altitude of 5,895 meters (19,341 ft). High altitude trekking carries inherent risks, including Acute Mountain Sickness (AMS), High Altitude Pulmonary Edema (HAPE), High Altitude Cerebral Edema (HACE), hypothermia, and physical exhaustion.

Information, training advice, acclimatization schedules, and gear recommendations shared on KiliAventure by members or certified guides are for peer informational purposes only. They do not constitute certified medical advice. You must consult a qualified physician or travel medicine specialist before undertaking high-altitude expeditions.

3. Ethical Porter Welfare & Mountain Code

KiliAventure is built on the core principle of mountain ethics. All participants in our community agree to uphold and advocate for:

Fair Porter Treatment: Respecting luggage weight limits (maximum 20kg per porter), ensuring proper mountain shelter, nutrition, and fair living wages in line with Kilimanjaro Porter Assistance Project (KPAP) standards.
Leave No Trace: Preserving the fragile alpine ecological zones, carrying down all non-biodegradable waste, and respecting national park regulations (TANAPA).
Supportive Human Rope Team: Encouraging fellow climbers of all fitness levels with respect, constructive tips, and positive camaraderie.

4. Certified Tour Guides & Operator Representation

Users registered as Certified Tour Guides have provided licensing credentials or proof of mountain leadership. However:

KiliAventure provides a community discussion forum and does not act as a direct tour operator or booking agent.
Any contracts, trekking bookings, or payments arranged between climbers and independent tour guides or agencies occur strictly outside the platform and at the parties' own risk.
Misrepresenting guide certifications or park permits is grounds for immediate account termination and revocation of community badges.

5. Community Conduct & Content Rules

When creating threads, asking questions, or posting replies, you agree NOT to:

Post spam, repetitive commercial promotions, unauthorized affiliate links, or deceptive travel reviews.
Harass, abuse, defame, or discriminate against other members, guides, porters, or local communities.
Post content that violates copyright, intellectual property rights, or privacy of others.

We reserve the right to moderate, edit, or remove any discussions or comments that violate these standards.

6. Member Accounts & Security

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials. You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that engage in malicious activity or violate our ethical guidelines.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, KiliAventure, its founders, and contributors shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages resulting from your use of the platform, participation in mountain treks, reliance on forum advice, or interactions with third-party guides or operators.
